Learning the Business Basics the Right Way

I do much better with learning things if I am able to go at my own pace. I like to watch videos a lot when I am unfamiliar with something, and at times I will watch the same video a few times just so I can fully master what is being taught on them. I used this same approach when my boss suggested I look at a mini-MBA program that an online company offers. He knew that I was hesitant about applying for a promotion because of my lack of education, and this was his way of telling me that he supported me.

I looked at the website that he gave me, and I was impressed with everything that I saw. I was able to watch a video on everything they offer as well as how the course plays out over real time, and I knew that it was something that I would have success at just because of how the course is presented. I will watch a lot of videos, and I will also have to do work sheets. Since I am not actually doing them in front of anyone, I can take my time to make sure that I fully understand everything.

This is a big move for me. With getting educated on the basics of business like this, I know I will feel a lot more confident in applying for that promotion, which my boss has all but guaranteed is mine. He wanted to give it to me without this extra education, but I just did not feel I was ready. There are a lot of new duties involved, and I just feel better knowing that I will have a business background to make the right choices. I signed up the other day for the course, and I cannot wait to begin it!
